Microsoft Wordament

I created two new Daily Challenges for Wordament; Balloon Pop and Gold Rush. Each mode encourages a strategic approach previously unseen in the app. Balloon Pop no longer allows the user to avoid problematic tiles, requiring the use of all tiles and intelligent use of a roaming multiplier. Gold Rush requires planning multiple moves ahead rewards the usage of specific pairs of letters within the same word.

I also redesigned the UX to accommodate one-handed play and lengthen play sessions. I moved calendar navigation and game entry into ergonomic reach and added an affordance for the user to enter the next challenge from the previous challenge’s victory screen. This new UX became our team’s template for all of our future mobile titles.
