Memory Matches Friends

This was the first game Lumate handed entirely over to me to design and manage. I had a programmer to write the code and was responsible for everything else. It’s no longer on the store because it had minimal users, but the user it did have really enjoyed it.

Users competed asynchronously in five rounds of timed matching. Player one would choose the theme and complete the board while being timed, then player two would race to finish the same board in less time. The faster player won the round. Five rounds meant no ties and the winner would be rewarded with more currency than the opposition. The metagame was centered around the themes, which could be purchased with a large chunk of in-game currency or rented for one round for a one-time fee.
